Symptom:
The error code 8500202 is returned when using Windows Phone 7 along with Microsoft Exchange. This results in active sync failing to download new messages from the mail servers.
Cause:
One or more messages within your mailbox contains invalid data where the body of the message is not in the msg file format and contains other data such as a different file format.
Resolution:
Delete the message.
